What's your cancellation policy?
At the time of booking, a nonrefundable deposit of $150 is required to secure your spot. With at least 72 hours notice, you can reschedule and your deposit will be moved to your new date. If canceled with less than 24 hours notice, the deposit is forfeited and a new deposit would be needed to book a new session.
What's the difference between a headshot and a portrait?
A headshot is shot from the shoulders up, while a portrait can be 3/4 or full-body; the sky's the limit when it comes to creativity and what vibes you want to capture in a portrait. Portraits are ideal for personal branding, social media, and websites, while headshots are crucial for casting. When booking a portrait session we'll talk about your vision ahead of time or come up with a concept together!
What should I wear for my headshots?
A good rule of thumb is to wear solid colors or minimal patterns so you are the star of the shot. You can always add dimension with layers and textures. The most important thing is to wear items you love and feel comfortable and confident wearing. Bring extra options to your session so we can decide together!
Should I hire a makeup artist?
I highly recommend hiring a hair and/or makeup artist. They know how to make your natural beauty shine on camera and it takes that bit of stress off your shoulders. Even if you don't wear makeup on a day-to-day basis, it is essential to have some form of basic skin prep and grooming on-camera!
What if I don't know what to do with my face? Or hands? Or body?!
That's what I'm here for! There's no need to be a pro model - I'll talk you through it every step of the way. The key to a good headshot is groundedness, confidence, and knowing what you want to communicate to the camera. We'll rock out to your choice of music and have a great time.
When will I get my photos back?
You'll receive the full gallery of unedited pictures within 48 hours of our shoot unless otherwise stipulated. Once you've requested your photos for retouching, I'll return the final edits within 7 days. Photo galleries will be online for 30 days.
